Asier Arellano Moreno

As a part of the art team I worked in several fields and subteams and tasks. But mostly I ended working in the level desing subgroup. As for the level setting I did 3D models, textures and the Skybox.

3D Models and Textures

To do the 3D Models I used 3DSmax to create a base mesh and after that I edited them with ZBrush. To create the textures I used Substance Painter. I felt that creating a unique material for the asteroids would be more practical and easy, so I created a Material in Substance Design which can be found here

I only did the diffuse and normal maps for this this version of the Shield Gate, the model and this render were done by Andreu

I did everything for the asteroids and the Shield Generator, the models and all the map channels.

Skybox

I was in charge of doing the skybox during the whole project.

The skybox went through several iterations during all the project. At the beginning it was plain space with red and green nebulosas. However, we found that the player was easily disoriented as there were not many items that allowed him to pinpoint his position and orientation in the space. Then we decided to add new elements such as a planet alongside the nebulosa and finally we added an asteroid trail and some Starship destroyers to make the user know where they are and which direction they are facing.
